On Beginning Again
I used to think starting over meant I had failed at staying the same. Now I think staying the same was never the assignment.
Every season I have loved — and every one I have barely survived — asked me to begin again in some small way. New rhythms. New pages. New strength. The wonder is not that we have to start over; the wonder is that we get to.
So here is to the beginners. The ones lacing up shoes for the first time in years, opening the journal with the cracked spine, whispering maybe this time. I am with you. I am one of you.
There is beauty found in the journey — I keep saying it because I keep finding it true.
